Sound file 8. Dawn chorus recording of a dry forest in Zimbabwe, the first 1:12 seconds of this recording reflect complex rhythmic sounds produced by birds and other organisms. Starting at 1:13, baboons begin to bark, using the surrounding rock outcrops to propagate their calls. Note the large differences in echos between the baboons (more than 4 seconds) and those of the birds (less than a second).
